Three Tibetan nuns from Tehor Nyagay Nunnery in Kardze county, Sichuan province, were arrested by Chinese security forces for staging a peaceful protest May 20. The three nuns, identified as Achoe, Soe Choekyi and Tashi Yangtso AKA Taga, marched 20 kilometers from the nunnery to the county headquarters, where they shouted "Freedom in Tibet," "Dalai Lama return to Tibet," and "Immediate release of the political prisoners." The three nuns were immediately detained by the county police.
