The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS [10]), pillar of India's ruling fascistic ideology [11] of Hindutva, held a rally in New York City—which was happily met with a large protest [12] outside Madison Square Garden. Some protesters drew a parallel between Kashmir [13] and Palestine [14], an obvious connection given the Zionist-Hindutva anti-Muslim axis [15]. However, progressive [16] Congressional candidate Brad Lander [17]—an opponent [18] of military aid to Israel and a supporter [19] of Israel's anti-war opposition [20]—was accosted [21] at the protest for being a "Zionist." This is mirrored in a similar incident [22] in San Francisco, when another Jewish Democratic candidate, Scott Wiener [23], was driven from a Trans Pride event in Dolores Park.
