Once-time peacenik icon Tulsi Gabbard [13] has joined Robert F. Kennedy Jr [14] in defecting to the now [15] openly [16] fascist [17] and even Nazi-embracing [18] MAGA camp—actually becoming members of the Trump transition team [19]. Meanwhile, the Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein [35], likewise enamoured [21] of Vladimir Putin [22] and the dictators in his orbit (including [23] mass murderer Bashar Assad [24]), is being represented by a former Trump attorney [25] in her bid to get on the ballot in swing state Nevada. Beyond the threat that she could serve as a spoiler [26] and throw the election [27] to Trump, this raises questions about the cooptation of segments of the American left by MAGA-fascism. It is no longer just the old-school sectarian "tankie [28]" left that's in danger of taking the fascist lure in a Red-Brown alliance [29], but the pacifist, cannabis-friendly [30] "green" left as well.
