Venezuela: Chávez sees Curaçao threat
Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen has summoned the Venezuelan ambassador to provide an explanation of statements made by President Hugo Chávez at the Copenhagen summit, where he accused the Netherlands of colluding with the United States against his nation by allowing military access to the Dutch Antilles. Verhagen denied that there is any aggression plot against Venezuela. (Radio Netherlands, Dec. 18)
In his comments, Chávez said the US is militarizing Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire in preparation for aggression against his country. "They are three islands in Venezuela's territorial waters, but they are still under an imperial regime: the Netherlands," the populist president said. "Europe should know that the North American empire is filling these islands with weapons, assassins, American intelligence units, and spy planes and warships."
In Washington, State Department spokesman Ian Kelly also denied any hostile intentions against Venezuela. "These allegations are baseless. These are routine exercises. We seek cooperation with the region," Kelly said. (AP, Dec. 18)

Chávez: shoot down gringo drones
Just a few days after the above proclamation, Chávez charged that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, had illegally entered Venezuela's airspace during the past several days. "A few days ago, one of these military planes penetrated Venezuela as far as Fort Mara," a Venezuelan military fort in the State of Zulia, bordering Colombia. The US Southern Command online Fact Sheet on Forward Operating Locations acknowledges that Aruba/Curaçao is one of the Pentagon's two FOLs in Latin America and the Caribbean—the other being Comalapa, El Salvador.
No Netherlands plot against Venezuela
There is no agression plot from the Netherlands against Venezuela!! Only from Venezuela against the dutch islands... witch the netherlands dont even want anymore realy!!
