10 arrested over acid attack in Afghanistan
Afghan police have arrested 10 men accused of spraying acid in the faces of several schoolgirls and teachers. The attack happened outside a girls' high school in the southern city of Kandhar.

The men used water pistols to spray the acid into the faces of the victims. One of the injured school girls is undergoing reconstructive surgery to her face and neck.

Afghan security officials say the perpetrators were paid several thousand dollars to carry out the attack which was ordered by Taliban leaders in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Afghan president, Hamid Karzai, is calling for the perpetrators to be publicly executed.
