From the Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA), July 5:

Alieh Eghdam Doost, who was arrested on June 12, 2006 for attending a women's rights rally in Tehran, is sentenced to three years and five months prison term and 20 lashes, her attorney, Nasim Ghanavi, said to ISNA today.

"My client is sentenced to three years prison term for acting against national security through participating in illegal congregation, and is sentenced to four month prison term and 20 lashes for violating the public order and peace," Ghanavi said.

"My client's last court session was June 6, 2007, and her conviction was communicated to us today," she said. "We will appeal the verdict during the legal appeal period."
